Machine / Press Operator
Manufacturing company is looking for a machine / press operator. This role is the first step in an 8-step production process : operating a press machine to form tantalum anodes. Tantalum is not a hazardous material, though it can react under extreme heat. Operators work with small amounts (about a tablespoon per anode) and are not exposed to ignition sources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate a press machine to form tantalum anodes.
- Insert a wire into the die, add tantalum powder, smooth the powder, and run the press cycle.
- Weigh each anode, record measurements, and place finished pieces on trays.
- Clean the die with a puff of air after each cycle.
- Maintain a production pace of one anode per minute while focusing on quality.
- Accurately enter basic data into the computer system.
- Follow all quality and safety protocols in a mission-critical environment.
Training : Up to 2 weeks alongside an experienced Press Operator on the same shift.
Requirements :
Ability to perform highly repetitive, precise work.Strong attention to detail and consistency.Basic computer data-entry skills.Able to sit for 7.5 hours per day.Dependable attendance and punctuality.Ability to work well with peers and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.Willingness to learn additional steps in the manufacturing processpromotion from within is common.Work Environment & Dress Code :
Casual attire : jeans or shorts and a t-shirt.Closed-toe shoes required (work boots not required).Clothing must be appropriate for a professional environment.All required PPE is provided by the company for any of the 8 manufacturing steps.Pay & Schedule :
