PRIMARY OBJECTIVE : To perform cutting and preparation, meat stocking and rotation, and provide customer service and department cleaning duties. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.

NATURE AND SCOPE : Emphasis in this position is to meet daily production needs and quality standards in meat cutting and preparation. Primary learning challenge is learning retail cutting techniques for all meat cuts, proficiency with the saw and merchandising techniques. This position requires ongoing heavy lifting, standing, operation of meat equipment, exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces, judgment / decision making, social skills / verbal interactions, listening skills, and reading. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. The Meat Manager or person in charge provides assignments and work direction.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• Perform meat cutting and preparation

Follow daily cutting lists and complete work in allotted time

Ensure customer satisfaction

Pull outdated product and properly rotate

Break down equipment according to procedures

Verify product with invoice and log

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting / carrying up to 100 lbs.

Judgment / decision making

Working in cold conditions
