Sr. Ramp Manager At Primeflight
The Senior Ramp Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations on the airport ramp, including aircraft handling, baggage loading and unloading, and coordination of ground support services. This role demands ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and efficiency in handling all ramp activities to minimize delays and optimize turnaround times. The Senior Ramp Manager is tasked with managing a team of ramp agents and ground support staff, providing training and guidance to maintain high standards of service. Additionally, this position involves close coordination with airline representatives, air traffic control, and other relevant airport departments to ensure smooth and synchronized operations. You will also play a crucial role in implementing emergency response procedures and handling incident investigations when necessary.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee all ramp operations, ensuring efficient management of aircraft loading, unloading, and turnaround processes
- Develop and implement operational strategies for ramp activities to enhance efficiency and safety while reducing turnaround times
- Coordinate closely with flight operations, ground handling teams, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment on the ramp at all times
- Lead, train, and manage ramp personnel, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and professional development
- Monitor and manage the deployment and maintenance of ground support equipment used in ramp operations
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to maintain high service standards and minimize errors
- Liaise with airlines, airport authorities, and other stakeholders to address operational issues and improve ramp services
- Develop and manage the budget for ramp operations, including cost control and resource allocation
- Respond swiftly to operational challenges and emergencies, providing decisive leadership and effective solutions
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing changes to optimize ramp activities
- Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in ramp management
- Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement among ramp staff
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies and practices in ramp operations
- Prepare and present regular reports on ramp operations to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic plans for future development
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications :
18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesMust have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving recordCommunicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)Minimum of 5 years of experience in ramp operations or ground handling in an airport environmentProven leadership and team management skillsIn-depth knowledge of airport ramp procedures and safety regulationsStrong organizational and communication abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentFamiliarity with industry-standard ground handling equipment and proceduresAbility to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24 / 7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
