Compensation

$19.15 - $22.00 per hour

What You Will Do

Assist clients with a variety of daily living activities including:

• Ambulation and transfer activities.
• Ostomy care.
• Assists clients with medical equipment, supplies, and devices as prescribed.
• Assists with self-administered medication.
• Simple skincare.
• Takes and record pulse, temperature, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Performs light housekeeping activities (tidying, shopping, laundry).
• Observes, reports, and records changes in the client's condition and environment.
• Adheres to accepted infection control practices.
• Assists with nutritional and fluid intake needs, including preparation of meals.
• Ensures client's rights and confidentiality are maintained.
• Bathing, change of bed linen, toileting, dressing, feeding, shampooing, shaving, mouth care, nail care, and prescribed skin care.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department approved HHA Training Program or Equivalency.
• Sixth (6) grade reading comprehension level.
• Writing and math skill level to the extent necessary for the successful and safe performance of required job functions.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting adult clients.
• Standing and walking for extensive periods, as well as bending and climbing stairs.
• Commonly lifts, carries, and maneuvers items weighing more than 50 lbs.
