Security Officer - School Security Patrol

As a Security Officer - School Security Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence at an educational location. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to observe and report any unusual or suspicious behavior.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and / or credentials as required for entry to designated areas.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals on campus, addressing questions and directing them as needed.
  • Collaborate with campus personnel and local authorities as directed during emergencies or special events.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
