Director of Finance

Location : White Plains, NY - full-time onsite to start.

Compensation : Base salary of $200,000-$225,000 + bonus - depending on experience.

CFS has partnered with a long-standing client in Westchester to help identify their new Director of Finance. This person will play an integral role in managing the organization's financial health and integrity. This role will oversee accounting operations, as well as their renewal process, insurance administration, and their financial statement process.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the annual renewal process for all insurance policies, negotiating terms with providers and ensuring timely completion to prevent lapses in coverage.
  • Coordinate and execute year-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, maintaining accuracy and consistency in the organization's financial records.
  • Oversee the creation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, providing clear reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage the organization's insurance portfolio, including policy review, risk assessment, and maintaining adequate coverage to protect assets and operations.
  • Ensure timely payment to 3rd party trucking and develop efficient processes to monitor and control billing.
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • Present financial results and analyses to executive management, board members, and other key stakeholders.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Master's degree or CPA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance / accounting out of a distribution company.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
