Job Title : RN CVICU Pediatrics Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : CVICU Pediatrics Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of one year of experience required License : Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. PALS (American Heart Association) required Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients Description : Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients. Performs minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
