Assistant Controller

Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. In this role, you will oversee critical financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls for a publicly traded defense contractor. This position requires extensive knowledge of government contracting regulations and expertise in financial systems such as Deltek Costpoint.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control standards and support related audits.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing public filings.
• Maintain and improve internal control systems to meet compliance mandates.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits to ensure timely reviews.
• Oversee compliance with government contracting regulations, including reviewing indirect cost rates and supporting incurred cost submissions.
• Utilize Deltek Costpoint for accurate financial reporting and data analysis.
• Supervise accounting staff, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Partner with FP& A, Contracts, and Program Management teams to ensure alignment on financial processes.
• Contribute to system upgrades and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced certifications preferred.
