Starting Salary : $80,000-$85,000

Position Summary

At Pace we transform girls’ lives through academic and counseling programs based on a gender-responsive, strength-based and trauma informed framework. Team members create a safe place for girls to learn, process, heal and begin again.

The Program Director guides and oversees social-emotional prevention programming to girls. This position is aimed at providing administrative execution of the program and academic / social services teams, ensuring that girls are provided with quality social service and academic supports.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related field
  • Current Florida driver’s license
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in leading and supervising teams
  • Knowledge on child development
  • Experience using personal computers and basic office equipment required

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum three years of experience in an Educational or Social Services environment
  • Skilled in trauma-responsive practices
  • Familiar with Department of Education requirements
  • Knowledge of laws relating to children and families, as well as care (case) management practices
  • Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Minimum of three years of administrative experience in an at-risk youth serving agency
  • Experience with auditing and compliance functions
  • Roles and Responsibilities

    Ensure Quality Programming

  • Ensure commitment to the Pace mission, vision, culture, values and guiding principles, and strategic goals and objectives of Pace Center for Girls
  • Manage and coordinate activities related to fidelity of the evidenced-based program model, including social services and academic components
  • Facilitate cohesion in Academic and Social Service program components, as well as Reach Program Services (if applicable), to ensure the integration of Gender-Responsive, Strength-Based and Trauma-Informed programming and Pace Values and Guiding Principles
  • Ensure quality programming that increases girls’ resiliency and protective factors by improving relationships, increasing self-efficacy, and encouraging self-advocacy
  • Guide team members to provide strength-based behavior modification and to ensure appropriate use of the Growth and Change System in the program, including non-violent intervention of girls and caregivers when needed
  • Create partnerships with community resources to identify quality services and assistance that will enhance the program and cohesively meet the needs of girls
  • Ensure all school district requirements are met; may act as liaison between Pace and the local school district
  • Collaborate with the Academic manager to implement the School Improvement Plan and provide feedback to team members as needed
  • Oversee the administration of National School Lunch Program
  • Manage existing agency resources to maximize efficiency, utilization, and innovation
  • Share responsible for ensuring the recruitment of girls and maintaining census of the program
  • Participate on the intake team to support decision-making about program enrollment
  • Provide oversight to middle managers (if appliable) in the provision of academic, social service, and intensive wrap-around care (case) management services to girls aimed at building resiliency and decreasing risk-related behaviors through a holistic framework; maintain a care (case) load if warranted
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as warranted, including family support, peer mediation, classroom support, consultation, and the coordination of risk assessments to ensure safety of the girls in the program
  • Utilize the student management system and other documentation to ensure that middle managers are following proper protocol regarding team member performance
  • Leadership

  • Hire, on-board, supervise, and evaluate middle managers and team members under the culture standards of caring, purpose, learning, and results
  • Lead, develop, and supervise team members using a gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and strength-based framework
  • Guide and facilitate care review meetings regarding girls’ care, providing education to the care planning team using a multidisciplinary framework
  • Coordinate internal and external professional development efforts to support development and succession plans
  • Develop and oversee the center’s training program to ensure compliance with policy and contracted funders; ensure certifications are current
  • Ensure compliance regarding documentation of efforts, the collection of data and programmatic outcomes, safety standards, and the preparation of reports as needed to ensure contractual and grant obligation
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory and contractual standards
  • Ensure safety initiatives and adherence to agency safety program
  • Oversee quality substance abuse prevention services by monitoring the standards of the Florida Administrative Codes Chapter 65D-30
  • Ensure the program adheres to the Department of Juvenile Justice Education standards
  • Ensure grant and funder contracts are utilized to their fullest capacity as dictated in contacts and memorandums of understanding
  • Facilitate meetings and workgroups with center management, community stakeholders, and contract affiliates
  • Utilize data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the program and adjust as needed
  • Ensure that all disclosures of abuse and neglect are reported timely and accurately
  • Conduct regular self-audits to ensure the program is providing high quality services and meeting standards; implement changes to standards as they occur
  • Follow the State and Stakeholder (funders) guidelines to report incidents, including the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Central Communications Center (CCC)
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, assess needs and develop goals for the center’s day program; follow through and implement strategies and action plans
  • Create, prepare and maintain reports and documents for assigned projects and services, and other assignments as directed by the Executive Director
  • Serve as a member of the Center’s Leadership Team and report to the Executive Director
  • Advocate for and represent Pace within the community to enhance the understanding of agency initiatives, elicit support, advocate for girls, and support recruitment and retention efforts
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external patrons
  • Promote Pace within the community, attend conferences, and public speaking events.
  • Assist in training and oversight of assigned interns and volunteers and ensure their performance meets the needs of the girls served, if warranted
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supervisory Responsibility :

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws, including Board 491 and the Florida Administrative Codes Chapter 65D-30
  • This position requires a Level II pre-employment background screening pursuant to Chapters 435, 984, 985 and 943, Florida Statutes, and the Department of Juvenile Justice policy and procedures.
