About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Experience : Two years Pediatric Nursing experience required

License : Current RN license in state of practice required

Certifications :

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required

Must-Have :

Description :

Provides for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in the Pediatric Unit.

Responsible for care planning, medication administration, and noting physiological changes and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients.

Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice.

Will be cross-trained and float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills in the care and management of pediatric patients requiring ventilatory support.

Utilizes appropriate teaching methods based on the condition, culture, and assessed learning readiness of the patient and family.

Completes legible, accurate, and timely documentation of all nursing care provided.

Actively participates in the orientation and training of new employees and ancillary staff.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Engages in multidisciplinary, family-centered goal-oriented care planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Provides education on in-hospital care and care after discharge to patients and their families.

Demonstrates appropriate clinical judgment in managing pediatric emergencies.

Ensures necessary safety and quality control checks are consistently performed.

Essential functions call for appropriate nursing interventions for both stable and acutely ill pediatric patients.

Is knowledgeable in pediatric fluid and electrolyte management, as well as nutrition and feeding.
