Assistant Controller

Director of Accounting

We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to join one of our most prestigious clients in Dallas, Texas. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the healthcare industry organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of accounting principles to support financial reporting, compliance, and team development.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and distribute accurate financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and payroll processing, to uphold established policies and controls.
• Oversee the month-end close process by reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses, while coordinating with the FP&A team to align financial entries with budgeted projections.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by collaborating with the Controller and external advisors to prepare and file accurate tax returns.
• Approve and review treasury transactions such as bank transfers and wire templates to maintain financial accuracy and security.
• Lead and mentor the general ledger accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous attention to detail and growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
• Coordinate with external auditors during financial statement audits to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain and update accounting systems, ensuring proper functionality and integration with financial processes.
