Join Our Team as a First Year Elevator Installation Apprentice!

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in the Vertical Transportation Industry? We are seeking motivated individuals to assist in the installation and repair of elevator and accessibility equipment. Get hands-on experience while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Familiarize yourself with the Vertical Transportation Industry.
  • Assist the lead installer in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of accessibility equipment.
  • Learn to read blueprints to understand the layout of system components.
  • Help assemble elevator cars and components.
  • Learn to connect electrical wiring to control panels and motors.
  • Assist in testing newly installed equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Engage with relevant organizations and understand National Codes and Regulations.
  • Become well-versed in industry terminology and different types of equipment.
  • Study the Elevator Industry Field Employees Safety Handbook.
  • Understand basic electricity concepts and electrical schematics.
  • Gain knowledge in troubleshooting various conveyance systems such as brakes, motors, and control systems.
  • Become familiar with installation tools and site conditions.
  • Learn about hydraulic pipe fitting, EMT bending, and how to read installation manuals thoroughly.
  • Participate in Soft Skills Training, including critical thinking, teamwork, and communication.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, your lead installer, and the dispatcher.
  • Maintain tools and inventory efficiently.
  • Follow directions, work independently, and contribute positively to the team.
  • Demonstrate competence in First Year Apprentice skillsets.

Qualifications :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management abilities.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Solid mechanical skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a background in mechanical / electrical fields preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Capability to read schematics and manuals accurately.
  • Physically fit for lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work from ladders and perform overhead tasks.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
