POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is a unique and vital role in performing the functions of an entry to mid-level Financial and Accounting Specialist in fulfilling the finance and accounting requirements for CSAAC’s and CSAAC’s subsidiary organization, Black Cherry Hill, LLC, in its business of operating a Rita’s Italian Ice Franchise. The ideal candidate must have a sound background within the hospitality, restaurant or retail industry to assist with the accounting, budgeting and financial growth of a small Rita’s Franchise.
The Financial and Accounting Specialist performs various financial and accounting functions within the Finance Directorate to ensure financial transactions are accurately and timely recorded in accounting systems of records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), procedures, policies, applicable laws and regulations, and standards promulgated by CSAAC Leadership and Board Council. The Financial and Accounting Specialist duties involve assistance with financial accounting data reviews and analysis; preparation of check requests, daily cash deposits, cash / check accountability, and bank reconciliations; tracking accounts payable and account receivable transactions; assisting with performing monthly and year-end closings to produce financial statements; assisting with internal and external audits; timely processing of billings, collections, financial reporting, budget and tax preparations; file management; and payroll assistance. The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Controller within the Finance Directorate and is under the direct leadership and guidance of the CFO / Director of Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredit university in Accounting. A Finance degree, Business Administration of Management or an equivalent degree is acceptable with at least 3-6 semester hours of accounting classes passed with a grade of B or higher; Associate’s degree accepted with additional relevant work experience.
Experience : Bachelor’s degree : (1) Must at least 1-year experience working in accounting, finance, or budget or banking, and be familiar with computerized data processing, financial reporting requirements, and general accounting functions with experience with accounting systems of records (MIP, Quickbook, SAP, etc.); or Associate’s degree with 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in the above areas.
Preferred. Additional experience with at least 1 year of restaurant or retail experience with cashier operations, inventory accountability, sales reconciliation, bank deposits, expense tracking, tips, and payroll.
Skills : Good arithmetic skills are required. Must possess the ability to work independently with accountants, auditors, and automatic data processing. Incumbent must be able to make payroll, keep all records of taxes, and be responsible for all fiscal matters related to the Day / Supported Employment and Residential Services operated by CSAAC.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Employee must be able to effectively complete a non-adverse physical intervention with autistic individuals of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in Behavioral Principles and Strategies training.
