Quality Inspector

Xylem is seeking a Quality Inspector responsible for performing inspections on incoming materials parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings specifications and quality standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity and supporting continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect incoming materials and finished assemblies for compliance with standards drawings and purchase order requirements.

Document inspection results through receiving and final inspection reports.

Generate Product Inspection Reports (PIRs) for all non-conforming materials.

Collaborate with Quality Engineering to identify root causes and assist in implementing corrective actions.

Perform additional quality-related tasks as assigned.

Availability to work Monday through Saturday as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in dimensional inspection.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Proficient in the use of standard inspection tools and measuring equipment.

Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a pump fabrication or machine shop environment.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with ISO 9000 quality standards.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand or sit for 8 hours per shift.

Frequent reaching walking pushing pulling and lifting.

Must be able to lift and handle parts up to 35 lbs.; heavier items will be lifted using a hoist.

Work Environment

Typical manufacturing shop environment with seasonal temperature changes.

Exposure to noiseear protection required.

Work around electrical components motors and wiring.

Required PPE includes : safety glasses ear plugs safety shoes (with toe and metatarsal guards) gloves and work uniform.
