Description : SUMMARY OBJECTIVE

A material handler is responsible and accountable for facilitating and supporting the transportation and unloading / loading of materials, inventory supplies, and finished products to designated locations using a forklift and other equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Accountable for receiving, distributing, and storing products per company directives in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Responsible for reviewing shipments for quality as well as accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details and / or special instructions including expediting any shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Responsible for transporting and loading materials, supplies, and finished goods utilizing best method whether manually and / or utilizing tow motor trucks, overhead crane with chains, and pallet jacks.
• Prepares finished product for shipment by identifying, pulling, staging, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping to ensure the Company maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Accountable for maintaining an updated account of stock and inventory utilizing applicable systems per Company directives.
• Responsible for customer returns by completing appropriate technical documentation including providing any required communication to customer and internal departments.
• Ensures all material handling equipment is maintained in the best, safe operable condition by following a maintenance schedule and reporting faulty equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to the manager.
• Responsible for maintaining the availability of products and notifying the manager when products are damaged or in short supply. Collaborates with internal departments to locate missing packages.
