IMMIGRATION LEGAL ASSISTANT (BILINGUAL)


The Immigration Law Office of Moises L. Barraza, LLC is a family-run practice dedicated to providing high quality, trustworthy immigration services to individuals and families. We are looking to add another legal assistant to our team to assist with the ever-growing need for immigration services. This position is specifically designed for a competent individual who is looking for a long-term career with growth potential within our office.

Position Overview:


Duties of the Immigration Legal Assistant at the Immigration Law Office of Moises L. Barraza, LLC will include but are not limited to the following:


  • Providing direct assistance to Attorney(s) and Paralegals;
  • Managing clients, documents, forms, and compiling applications for assigned case types;
  • Meeting with clients to prepare all applications for assigned case types, making sure forms are filled correctly, without errors, reviewed by the Attorney, and submitted on time to meet any and all deadlines;
  • Managing incoming documents: communicating with clients to ensure that clients submit all requested documents on time and according to guidelines;
  • Answering client questions about case status or other issues that do not require direct Attorney attention;
  • Managing time to be as efficient as possible for the benefit of the client’s case;
  • Personal initiative is expected. Ideas to improve functionality and efficiency are welcome.
Qualifications:


  1. Dedication to the Law Office’s mission to give immigrants the best chance of success.
  2. Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
  3. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  4. Paralegal degree or certificate a bonus.
  5. Desire to build a career in immigration law.
  6. Technologically-savvy (comfortable working on different computer programs such as Word/Pages).
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Honest, self-motivated, reliable, and flexible.
  9. Skilled in problem solving, organization, and attention to detail.
  10. Poised and relaxed under stress, with the ability to work well with deadlines and multitasking.
  11. Capable working independently but cohesively as part of a small office team.
  12. Skilled in document, case, file, and task management.
Salary and Hours:


Salary and benefits package will be offered within a range of $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with skill, ability, and experience. Normal office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch break. Our Firm strongly believes in providing work-life balance, so a full time work week is considered 40 hours, and no evening or weekend hours are expected.
