We are looking for experienced Shipfitters to join our team! The ideal candidates are skilled in reading blueprints, fabricating structural components, and working safely in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and marine structural drawings
Fit, align, and fabricate metal components such as bulkheads, decks, frames, foundations, and other structural parts
Use cutting tools, grinders, torches, and measuring instruments to prepare materials
Install foundations, pads, brackets, stiffeners, and other structural assemblies
Perform layout work using straightedges, squares, levels, and other precision tools
Burn, tack, and fit steel in accordance with shipyard standards and welding requirements
Inspect completed work to ensure alignment, fit, and compliance with specifications
Work in confined spaces, on ladders, and at heights as required
Follow all safety rules including PPE usage, fire watch procedures, and hazard awareness
Qualifications
Shipfitting or structural fitting experience required
Ability to read and interpret marine blueprints and schematics
Proficiency with cutting, grinding, burning, and fitting tools
Understanding of ship construction standards and terminology
Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in varying environments
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in confined spaces, on scaffolding, and in elevated areas
Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods
