General Summary:

As an Engineering Technician, you will frequently collaborate with Engineers across Qualcomm to optimize the utilization of our equipment and components. You will play a key role in the preliminary stages of our technical processes. Engineering Technicians will also be responsible for upkeeping and implementing operations and safety standards in the workplace to ensure all components of our equipment is properly handled.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication across the organization
  
  • Must know when to summarize and when to elaborate
  • Be able to communicate across the world with non-native English speakers
• Experience with electronic equipment, cables, connectors, and terminologies.
• Be able to plan, prioritize and multitask, and independently complete tasks on time.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows command line terminals and commands.
• Debugging simple IP network problems.

Good to have skills:

• Experience in Automotive Electronics & ECUs.
• Knowledge of basic Android debugging.
• Experience with scripting languages (bash, python)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bench Setup & Maintenance
  
  • Set up and maintain labs with hardware related to networking, displays, multimedia devices, CPU and other similar equipment.
  • Install software and firmware by following documentation or training, upgrade.
  • Configure electrical and electronic equipment and related components as needed.
  • Maintain clean electronic lab benches, by reducing electronic clutter, labeling (and updating as needed) all equipment and cables.
• Testing & Documentation
  
  • Perform basic measurements following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Contribute to the documentation of test results and maintain malfunction records.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs
  
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and perform repairs, rework, removal, and adjustments to the foresaid equipment.
  • Independently collaborate with team members and other teams across the company to resolve issues.
• Demonstration Preparation
  
  • Set up demo equipment using hand tools and/or software test methods to ensure proper operation for customer demonstrations, of various software and electronic technologies
• Test Execution
  
  • Execute manual and automated software test plans as defined.
  • Reproduce software and hardware issues to support development and validation processes.
  • Debug issues that fall under electronic connections and setup.

This role requires frequent movement throughout the day and tasks involving both fine and gross motor skills to perform essential job functions safely and effectively. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$19.78 - $29.68

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
