The Growth & Discovery Team is the engine responsible for driving massive user and revenue expansion for Gemini across all audiencesconsumers, businesses, and developers. Operating across the full user lifecycle, the team executes a comprehensive strategy that spans Acquisition (getting people in), Activation (getting them to their "aha" moment quickly), Retention (making Gemini indispensable through feature discovery and valuable use cases), and Expansion / Monetization (converting engaged users into subscribers). We accomplish this through a combination of in-product funnel optimization, global performance marketing, disciplined experimentation powered by an advanced platform, and the exploration of novel growth loops and distribution channels like Viral Sharing and Emerging Markets, ultimately building the essential systems and infrastructure to ensure scalable, efficient, and AI-powered growth for the entire Gemini ecosystem.

The Role

In this role, you will own the end-to-end strategy, execution, and performance of all user communications and notifications across the Gemini ecosystem (Email, Push, In-App, Badging, and SMS). You will act as a "growth athlete," combining deep product, analytical, and technical expertise to design, launch, and scale high-velocity experimentation to drive core metrics like activation, engagement, retention, and monetization. Success requires owning the full lifecycle growth motion, partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Design to leverage advanced AI / ML models for sophisticated content, timing, and channel personalization, ensuring that every message maximizes user value while maintaining a positive user experience.

Key responsibilities :

• Own the Notifications Strategy : Develop and own the overarching messaging strategy, roadmap, and quarterly goals for all consumer and developer lifecycle communications
• Design and Optimize Lifecycle Programs : Design, launch, and optimize global lifecycle campaigns (Email, Push, In-App Messaging, SMS) to drive activation, engagement, and retention across all Gemini segments (e.g., consumer, developer, business)
• High-Velocity Experimentation : Develop and manage a rigorous testing roadmap, running continuous A / B and multivariate experiments to improve core growth metrics (open rates, click-through rates, paid conversion, DAU / WAU impact, and LTV)
• AI / ML for Personalization : Leverage AI-powered workflows and predictive models to personalize communication content, channel selection, frequency, and timing at massive scale, focusing on timeliness and relevance
• Audience Segmentation & Journey Mapping : Own and refine audience segmentation logic and personalized user journeys to maximize long-term user value and minimize notification fatigue
• Infrastructure Partnership : Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to enhance the underlying messaging infrastructure (event triggers, experimentation tools, data pipelines) to enable sophisticated targeting and automation
• Measurement and Attribution : Partner with Data Science and Analytics to develop robust attribution models, measure the incremental impact of notification channels, and build and maintain dashboards for funnel performance and prioritization
• Cross-Functional Leadership : Serve as the primary driver for notifications, collaborating with design / creative teams to ensure compelling copy and visuals that reinforce the Gemini brand and with the broader organization to share key learnings
• Quality and User Experience : Focus on driving notification-initiated visits and ensuring an optimal user experience by aligning content, timing, and frequency with user needs, minimizing negative system or user cost
• Full-Stack Product Thinking : Be versatile and display leadership qualities to take on new problems across the full-stack, applying product management principles to technical challenges, including system design and ML optimization
