Certified Nursing Assistant

Up to $2,500 Sign-on Bonus

Work Shift : 3 X 12 hrs. Days, Nights, 1 Weekend Day is required.

Work Location : University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Nursing 12 North Medical / Surgical / Telemetry UTower

The University of Miami Hospital Medical Surgical Telemetry Department has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities include :

• Providing for patients' personal hygiene
• Assisting with meals and feeding patients
• Administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments
• Performing sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care
• Answering patients' call lights and requests promptly
• Maintaining a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff
• Transporting patients and equipment
• Reporting patient conditions to the assigned nurse
• Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output and checking and recording vital signs
• Providing patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
• Adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets
• Assisting patients in dressing and undressing, bathing, and eating
• Collecting noninvasive body fluid specimens or gathering vital signs
• Aiding physicians and nursing staff members with procedures and documenting patient interactions

Minimum Requirements :

Education : High School Diploma

Graduate from an accredited school of Certified Nursing Assistant

Certification and Licensing : C.N.A. License; Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association)

Experience : Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
