Data Engineer (Python / SQL) Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Python and SQL expertise to support the migration and expansion of an existing, production-grade data platform into a new business environment. This role is heavily focused on enabling reliable data movement, system integrations, and backend data workflows while ensuring continuity, performance, and stability during migration efforts.

The ideal candidate will work hands-on across data pipelines, backend services, and integrations, partnering closely with engineering leads to extend an established platform to support additional operational and analytical use cases. This role blends development, problem solving, and collaboration across multiple engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Python-based services and data workflows that support platform migration efforts.

Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries supporting data ingestion, transformation, and validation.

Support data movement and synchronization between existing systems and newly onboarded environments.

Build and maintain integrations across internal platforms, databases, and APIs.

Contribute to platform modernization initiatives with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Partner with technical leads to identify migration risks, data gaps, and performance bottlenecks.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to established development and data quality standards.

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Python in a data engineering or backend-focused role.

Advanced SQL skills with experience working in relational database environments.

Background supporting data pipelines, backend services, or system integrations.

Experience participating in platform migrations, system expansions, or modernization initiatives.

Familiarity with CI / CD practices and modern development workflows.

Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, data, and platform teams.
