Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Austin, TX 78704 (South Austin)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Job

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg), 2 Central, 10 beds

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekly Estimated Pay : $1260-$1350

On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas RN license or compact state nursing license

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a 10-bed unit

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs, LVNs, and CNAs

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Meditech EMR system

Administer medications, treatments, and perform essential nursing procedures

Support post-surgical patient recovery and manage overflow from emergency department (ED) holds

Ensure compliance with hospital policies and dress code (scrub color per policy)

Promote a positive, supportive environment for patients and healthcare colleagues
