Must-Have :

Must be comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients

Must have triage experience

Must be comfortable circulating and recovering C-sections

Prefer prior travel experience

Description :

The position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery.

Candidates must follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1 for labor patients and 1 : 2-3 for couplets.

The unit has 12 beds for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.

There is one operating room suite for C-sections.

Registered Nurses may be asked to titrate drips, including Pitocin and Magnesium.

The schedule is made out by leadership six weeks at a time.

Flexibility in scheduling is required to fill gaps in permanent scheduling.

All time-off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment.

Six to nine weekend shifts may be required within a six-week schedule.

Nurses may be asked to participate in holiday rotations.

There is a rare call or standby requirement due to low census.

Floating to other units is not required.

Blue hospital scrubs will be provided.

The unit may occasionally take overflow patients for mastectomy care.

These patients typically require only an overnight stay.

The cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.

The charting system used is Epic.
