GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
Not all students enter college with the same level of support; at the heart of student success is connection, care and a sense of belonging. The Seidler Foundation and Kirkwood Community College work together to create opportunities and access for eligible scholars to pursue their educational goals. The Seidler Foundation provides renewable scholarship opportunities to attend Kirkwood Community College for eligible students from three Cedar Rapids Community School District high schools. The Seidler Foundation reviews applications and selects scholarship awardees which are required to enroll at Kirkwood Community College. As the primary student-facing representative of Kirkwood Community College for the Kirkwood-Seidler partnership, the College Navigator will have a presence at the three high schools to ensure that students know of the scholarship opportunity and to encourage eligible students to complete the scholarship application. The College Navigator will be key in facilitating and delivering support for the scholarship awardees through the onboarding process as they transition to Kirkwood. Once enrolled at Kirkwood, the College Navigator will encourage awardees to meet their highest potential and meet with students individually and as a cohort to provide ongoing support that results in college success and completion.The College Navigator supports students in navigating college by providing personalized academic guidance and connecting them to campus and community resources. This role helps students stay scholarship-eligible, seek opportunities for engagement and leadership, and achieve credentials at Kirkwood and beyond. Through holistic, data-informed support and documented interventions, the College Navigator ensures coordinated care and regularly reports on individual and program-wide progress for the Seidler Scholarship.
THIS POSITION IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. CURRENT FUNDING FOR THE POSITION IS SCHEDULED TO END JUNE 30, 2031. CONTINUATION OF THE KIRKWOOD-SEIDLER SCHOLARSHIOP IS SUBJECT TO EXTENSION IF AGREED UP PRIOR TO JUNE 30, 2031.
The typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH / WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION :
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
