Santa Monica College is seeking a Community College Police Officer. The position is open to all qualified candidates and is scheduled to work full-time, 12 months per year. The days and hours vary based on the assignment. The incumbent will serve a one-year probationary period.

All qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process will consist of a Physical Agility Test (pass / fail) and a Qualifications Appraisal Interview (100%). Candidates must be successful on both the Physical Agility Test and the oral interview for their name to appear on the eligibility list. The names of the successful finalists will be placed on an eligibility list in rank order according to score, and the first three ranks of finalists will be invited to return for a final selection interview. Santa Monica College reserves the right to modify the stated examination components and weight prior to the administration of any examination. In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, Santa Monica College requires that all new employees provide documentation to establish both work authorization and identity.
Candidates will be required to pass an extensive background investigation prior to appointment in addition to a final interview, polygraph, psychological evaluation, and a medical examination.
