Referral Specialist

About the role

We're seeking a detailoriented Intake & Referral Specialist to provide shortterm coverage for a parental leave from January through May 2026 . This fully remote role ( NC residency required ) supports family counseling programs by ensuring referrals are processed quickly, clients can access services smoothly, and records remain accurate and complete.

What you'll do

• Respond rapidly to referrals : Engage with individuals and referral sources for families seeking counseling services
• Respond to individuals in crisis : Triage callers currently experiencing crises, referring them to ER, mobile crisis units or higher levels of care
• Coordinate scheduling : Screen referrals and inquiries, then book appointments for clinical services
• Manage program access : Maintain and monitor the waitlist for counseling o prioritize timely service.
• Own reporting : Prepare and submit assigned monthly reports to the Administrative Director
• Keep data clean and compliant : Enter and manage client information across internal and external databases; document interactions with referrers and families.
• Build internal referral pathways : Develop and maintain relationships with various internal departments to optimize referrals into Counseling.
• Support accurate billing : Work crossfunctionally with the billing team to keep client billing current and correct.

Pay Details : $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
