POSITION SUMMARY
The Learning Engineer plays a critical role in advancing the mission of Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship by supporting faculty in the design and implementation of innovative, data-driven learning experiences and integrated technology solutions that enhance teaching outcomes and operational effectiveness. This role requires strong collaboration across academic and technology teams and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, learner-centered environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology design, development, and support
- Assist faculty in the development of their course materials with initial template course design and build support.
- Participate in thought leadership with respect to the current tech landscape at the Golisano Institute.
- Recommend new technologies that would optimize the learning experience in the future.
- Provide expertise in the administration of the various tools in use at the institute.
- Provide technical expertise with respect to the administration of learning technology including, but not limited to the LMS and educational technologies deployed in the classroom.
- Appropriately document common use cases for technology at the institute.
Course Design, Development, and Instruction
Development of innovative course contentDesign, document, and implement technical course content according to course outlinesResponsible for the primary instruction of 1 course per quarter, as determined by the needs of Academic Affairs. Periodic instruction is a vital experience for this role.Administrative Partnerships
Work in collaboration with the academic affairs leadership and the information technology leadership teams to understand the vision for instruction within the Golisano Institute and create recommendations for faculty to carry out that vision.Provide occasional data analysis and support to the institutional decision-making process.Community and Professional Development
Attend and participate in required meetings, and other duties as determined.Represent the College with matters related to learning and teaching, in collaboration with Academic Affairs and other departments.Demonstrate active professional development for the advancement of the above duties.EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of experience providing t echnology suppor t and development.Experience administering or providing recommendations on the administration of various learning technologies; familiarity with Canvas LMS is desired, as is willingness to learn T1V / ThinkHub collaborative software. Facility with Office 365 and Teams is desirable, or the ability to quickly learn it well enough to instruct others.Experience creating technical documentationExperience as an instructor (including K-12 education, postsecondary education, and / or innovative corporate training)Experience developing information technology solutions for educational institutionsEXCEPTIONAL SKILLS / BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
