Job Overview :

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Java Consultant with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This unique role combines technical leadership in Java development with advocacy for inclusive practices across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

Design and develop scalable Java-based enterprise applications.

Lead architecture and design discussions on Java, Spring, Microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Mentor junior developers and enforce coding best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure performance, security, and compliance.

Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy :

Promote inclusive hiring and team-building practices.

Facilitate DEI training and awareness sessions.

Support employee resource groups and community outreach.

Partner with HR and leadership to track and improve diversity metrics.

Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement :

Align technical solutions with business goals.

Advocate for inclusive design and accessibility in product development.

Foster a respectful and collaborative team culture.

Training & Development :

Conduct training on inclusive coding and bias mitigation.

Support upskilling of underrepresented groups in backend technologies.

Create inclusive documentation and learning resources.

Required Skills :

Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Microservices, and Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Experience in technical leadership and mentoring.

Proven track record in DEI initiatives within tech teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
