Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an investor-owned business seeking an Interim Hands-on CFO to lead their team as the current CFO moves into retirement over the next few months. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of accounting to lead in preparing the financial reports, as well as experience with a business sale to provide information and support during this effort.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the accounting department to ensure smooth day-to-day transactions
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial trends, variances, and budget comparisons to support informed decision-making.
  • Inform key stakeholders of financial status
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to executives and investors
  • Assist in quality of earnings effort by providing requested information
  • Assist in the potential sales process
  • Support due diligence effort by maintaining relevant financial information

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a CFO in a hands-on environment
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software
  • Expertise in MS Excel
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to explain financial terms in simple language
  • Willingness to work in-office in Buffalo, NY, minimum 3 days, ideally 4-5 days a week
