Summary :

Receives, cleans, sterilizes and stores surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities :

Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspections.Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.Properly disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.

Education and Certification Requirements :

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Additional Job Information :

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Work Experience : One (1) year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred. Other Information : Successful completion of a recognized training program in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
