AdventHealth Medical Group in Kansas City is offering a program building opportunity for a dynamic, experienced cardiovascular surgeon to join our team at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, a 500+ bed facility. AdventHealth in Kansas City is a leading, faith-based, not-for-profit health system with four hospitals in the greater Kansas City area.

The new surgeon will be able to continue to build and develop our CV surgery program and perform a variety of cases including coronary bypass, valvular repair / replacement, and structural heart procedures. Experience or interest in general thoracic surgery is preferred but not required. New surgeon would work alongside a multidisciplinary and growing team of general cardiologists, interventionalists, and electrophysiologists that will total 20 in the next two years. The team has a large complement of cardiovascular APPs, including a CTS PA model facilitating cardiovascular care. ICU care is also enhanced by our dedicated critical care intensivists team.

Requirements of the position

At least five years of experience post training

Qualification for Kansas state physician license

Diplomate of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery

Strong leadership and communication skills

Team player mentality

Strong medical decision-making skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
