Regulatory Manager – Fintech

Duration : 12 Months | Pay : $60–$70  / hr (W2, all-inclusive, without benefits) | Office : 3 days a week – Tue‑Wed‑Thu

Focus of the Role

Primarily analytical : policy analysis, strategy development, research, and internal collaboration. Support work related to real‑time payments (RTP), FinTech, and the broader payments ecosystem. Build policy strategy decks, materials, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Must‑Haves

  • Priority over payments experience.
  • Candidates from government, trade associations, policy think tanks, or regulatory roles are strong fits.
  • Ability to ramp quickly.
  • Existing policy analysis skills (learning curve steep).
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build decks (PowerPoint), briefs, thought‑leadership content.
  • Project management and relationship‑building.
  • Needs to collaborate across departments and support broader team needs.

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Payments, fintech, or financial services experience.
  • Tech industry exposure – privacy, cloud, or tech policy experience.
  • JD or legal‑adjacent backgrounds are acceptable.
  • Candidates with 7–10 years experience are OK if they understand it’s a contract‑level manager role.

    • Overview

    The Regulatory Affairs Manager will support global government affairs and policy initiatives for a leading payments and technology organization. The role focuses on policy analysis, strategic research, cross‑functional collaboration, and development of policy materials to support internal stakeholders across regions.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in‑depth policy analysis across areas including RTP, digital infrastructure, open banking, fintech, and the broader payments ecosystem.
  • Develop policy briefs, strategic decks, talking points, and thought‑leadership materials for internal partners.
  • Support the creation and execution of government‑affairs strategy across regional teams (US, EU, LATAM, APAC).
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, legal, compliance, communications, and regional policy teams.
  • Monitor emerging regulations, technology trends, and market developments relevant to digital payments and financial services.
  • Provide research and analytical insights to guide internal decision‑making and strategic planning.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and updates for senior leadership.
  • Support ongoing organizational initiatives, special projects, and cross‑team coordination.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, International Relations, or related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory analysis, or related functions.
  • Strong understanding of policy‑making processes, regulatory landscapes, and government frameworks.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex issues.

    • Experience creating PowerPoint decks, policy briefs, and structured documentation.

  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new policy areas.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or technology policy.
  • Background in tech industry regulatory issues (privacy, cloud, AI, digital infrastructure).
  • JD or legal‑adjacent experience (paralegal, regulatory support).
  • Experience in government, trade associations, think tanks, regulatory bodies, or public policy research organizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and global teams.
