Description :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Truck Shop Mechanic to support the upkeep and reliability of our company’s fleet of vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. This role is essential to ensuring our operations run smoothly and safely.

Position Summary

The Truck Shop Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. This position will support overall shop operations, maintain service records, and ensure all safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks for the company’s fleet.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Monitor and inform Supervisor of shop inventory; parts, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent mechanical, electrical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repair.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle, truck, and heavy equipment repair.
  • Ability to visually diagnose issues and read / interpret repair manuals.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools, equipment, and related software for service records and inventory.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

    • Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Vocational / technical training in automotive or diesel technology highly preferred.
  • AC Certification preferred.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical repair work in a truck shop environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good vision for inspections and diagnostics.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, reach, and squat as needed to complete repairs.
