The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative III - Float (PSR III) plays a leadership role in providing high-quality, patient-centered specimen collection across multiple service locations. This position requires advanced phlebotomy expertise, adaptability, and professionalism. The PSR III - Float is responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring specimen accuracy, mentoring new staff, and maintaining compliance with all laboratory and safety standards . The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates leadership, communication, and problem-solving excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform accurate and safe venipuncture and capillary specimen collections across multiple locations.Provide site coverage for Patient Service Centers (PSC), In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP), Long-Term Care, and Mobile Phlebotomy as needed.Mentor and train new employees; act as a resource advisor and point of contact for phlebotomy staff.Lead daily operations at assigned sites, ensuring workflow efficiency and service excellence.Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, Billing, Logistics, and IT) to resolve issues and improve operations.Build rapport with patients, clients, and team members through clear communication and professionalism.Maintain adherence to safety, confidentiality, and quality assurance protocols.Adapt to varying site needs and work schedules in a high-volume environment .Required Experience :
5 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy (PSC / IOP) setting preferred.Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service environments preferred.Strong computer and data entry proficiency required.Education & Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).Required Skills :
