Responsibilities of a PTA:

Physical Therapist Assistant help Physical Therapists in providing care to patients. Under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist, they provide exercise instructions, therapeutic methods like electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, ultrasound and gait and balance training. Physical Therapist Assistants record the patient's progress and responses to treatment and report the outcome of each treatment to the Physical Therapist.

Qualifications of a PTA:

* Associate Degree from an Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program

* Licensed in the State of New York/New Jersey

* CPR/BLS certification

* 1 year work experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility
