Construction Detailer / Design Technician

Job Description

A well-established structural metal decking contractor is seeking a skilled Construction Detailer / Design Technician to join its team. This is not a back-office drafting role—your work directly supports fabrication, installation, and successful project delivery in the field.

You’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers and field leadership, solve design challenges, and see your work progress from screen to steel.

Key Responsibilities

Produce high-quality steel decking shop drawings using AutoCAD that align with project requirements and jobsite conditions

Interpret and coordinate information from architectural, structural, and engineering documents

Prepare, track, and revise submittals and RFIs, ensuring accuracy throughout project changes

Develop detailed bills of material to support fabrication and installation

Collaborate with Project Managers and field supervisors to resolve design and constructability questions

Update drawings based on revisions, clarifications, and field feedback
