The Role

The manager of the control system test lab and Land Based Test Facility (LBFT) at VASCIC will supervise a team of 10-18 technicians and engineers. Additionally, they will be responsible for the planning and purchasing using a direct budget of 1-2 million dollars. The job will also require coordination with several interfacing technical organizations for integration testing and coordinating the demands on lab resources.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

Familiar with machinery control system test facility management

Familiar with site security requirements for classified systems

Familiar with NNPP standards for control system and software development

Experienced with development of test procedures

Experienced with real-time, physics-based modeling and simulation

Experienced with the design and operation of the A1B Project
