Island Cats Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing, compassionate assistant with strong technical and client-service skills who thrives on building meaningful connections with both cats and their people.

In this role, you will :

  • Provide exceptional patient and client care while maintaining an efficient exam room flow
  • Accurately document patient care and maintain detailed medical records
  • Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity
  • Support the veterinarian and technicians during outpatient care and procedures to ensure the highest level of feline-focused medicine

    Schedule, benefits and compensation

  • Schedule : Full-time, 4-10 schedule with availability needed Mon-Fri; NO WEEKENDS
  • Compensation : $19-21 per hour
  • Bonus package : $500 based on 3+ years of current and consecutive experience

    • Preferred qualifications and skill set :

  • 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • A passion for feline medicine and exceptional client service
  • Proficiency in the following skills :

    • Exam room assistance and client communication

  • Surgical set-up and assisting
  • Venipuncture and sample collection
  • Radiology positioning and technique
  • Gentle feline restraint and the ability to understand and interpret feline body language

At our practice, you’ll never hear barking dogs—you’ll work in a calm, cat-dedicated environment where patients are treated with dignity, and clients are empowered through clear education and empathetic communication.
