How you'll contribute

The Health Information Manager will manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous experience in health information management required, prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.Valid driver's license preferred.
