This position will primarily focus on the older adult population.

POSITION SUMMARY :

This role, reporting to the Adult Ambulatory Coordinator and / or the Director of Service and Medical Director, involves providing direct and indirect clinical services to adults requiring mental health support. Responsibilities include client treatment, crisis assessment, intake assessments, individual and group therapy, case management, treatment planning, and patient / family education. As needed, you may provide flexible coverage across other Behavioral Health services. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • This position requires a Master's degree and Connecticut licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Incumbents must maintain a valid driver's license with public passenger endorsement, ensure a clean driving record, and complete a driving safety program upon hire and annually thereafter for participation in the Fleet Vehicle Program as outlined in the Eastern Connecticut Health Network's Environment of Care Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Required competencies in level of care and age-specific needs.
  • Preferred skills in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and familiarity with abuse and neglect reporting, community resources, and pre-authorization / billing processes.
  • COMPETENCIES :

  • Computer proficiency, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, alongside strong clinical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Flexibility to meet both service-specific and overall system needs.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and function autonomously when necessary.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Engage actively in individual or group clinical supervision, presenting cases, identifying areas for improvement, and welcoming feedback.

  • Organize and conceptualize data from a defined theoretical perspective, reflected in documentation and case presentations.
  • Respect cultural differences in treatment approaches as noted in documentation and team meetings.
  • Generate accurate clinical case formulations and identify feasible treatment goals through documentation and team discussions.
  • Demonstrate warmth, genuineness, and empathy, treating patients as whole individuals with unique strengths and needs.
  • Collaborate with patients to establish a mutual sense of outcomes and process goals, validated by feedback.
  • Secure required releases of information and effectively link with community providers like the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Adult Probation, etc., throughout treatment and discharge.
  • Regularly reassess patient progress and adjust treatment formulations as needed, in coordination with treatment plan updates and supervision meetings.
  • Exhibit conscientiousness and productivity in fulfilling responsibilities without reminders.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment when seeking assistance and acting independently.
  • Facilitate skill development through careful planning and implementation of DBT groups, as evidenced by progress documentation.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and punctually, adhering to JCAHO, Managed Care, and other program compliance standards.
