POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Technician at LJA Rail, Design development for freight railroad projects (horizontal, vertical, drainage designs, and construction plan development)

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Design of horizontal and vertical alignments for rail tracks
• Design of drainage systems to support rail projects
• Develop plan set suitable for construction
• Perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company
• Receive regular training to learn the design of freight rail projects
• Potential for field construction management and inspection activities
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ Years of Railroad civil design experience
• Construction experience is a plus
• Structural design a plus
• Microstation / Inroads proficient
• Strong communication skills
• Strong relationship builder
