Section Editor's are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section. The paper comes out monthly.

Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

1. Gather story ideas for every issue.
2. Assign stories to writers/
3. Write headlines for your stories
4. Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts
5. Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings.
6. Communicate with the Layout/Design Editor about your section.

Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED.

Experience Requirements:
Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn.
Knowledge:
knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Skills:
Excellent written communication skills.
Personal Requirements:
Ability to work as part of a team.
