Possesses initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management. Highly motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and project management skills to multitask and manage workload to timely completion. Works independently, meets deadlines. Employment contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Finance Analyst
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office (2 days a week required in office and any mandatory in office meetings) and remote work days (work must be performed in Utah). Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason. The office is located at the Taylorsville State Office Building at 4315 S 2700 W Taylorsville, Utah.
Responsibilities :
- Analyzing current and past financial data and performance
- Providing financial models and forecasting
- Evaluating current capital expenditures and depreciation
- Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
- Assist with the analyzing of actual results against plan and forecast and prepare analysis as required
- Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
- Detailed analysis, with understanding of key drivers, to forecast cost trends
- Develop a detailed understanding of business processes, looking for both control gaps and opportunities to gain process efficiency.
- Preparing reports and projections based on analysis
- Illustrating financial trends with charts and graphs
- Ad-Hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as required
- Provide oversight and mentorship as needed
