Position Summary:
The Classroom Instructor is responsible for teaching classroom courses both at DHCA’s office and at Agency Locations, in accordance with DHCA policies, and DDA and MBON guidelines. The above employee is designated as a Mandatory/Essential Employee. This employee is a Registered Nurse providing essential care to Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled persons in the community and required to report to work during State and/or National emergency periods. This may include traveling during periods with domestic travel restrictions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as Classroom Instructor.
Teach courses as assigned in accordance with all classroom and course policies, processes, and procedures, maintaining compliance with DDA MTTP.
Arrive at least 1 (one) hour prior to scheduled start time of class at DHCA’s location and 30 minutes prior for Customer locations.
Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning for all students.
Adjust teaching techniques to accommodate the diverse needs of the students.
Ensure all student paperwork/tests are counted and completed according to DHCA requests.
Grade tests promptly after class (same day).
Participate in training meetings.
Assist with necessary updates to training materials as needed.
Assist with organization and inventory of course supplies as needed.
Recognize and assist with the need for updates to course materials and communicate as needed.
Assist with ensuring the cleanliness of the classroom and equipment.
Attend three mandatory Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) nurse quarterly meetings per year.
Must be available to work minimally 3 weekend courses per month.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
AS, AA, or BS Degree in nursing is preferred.
Current/valid Maryland RN license or current/valid multistate compact license is required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a nurse at Dimensional Health Care is preferred.
Experience in the developmental disabilities environment is highly desired.
Must have current valid state-issued driver's license and own reliable transportation.
Must have a working “Smart” cell phone capable of making calls, receiving calls, receiving emails, and sending emails.

In the event that the United States Government, and/or the Local State Government determines and announces the decision to close, delay, or cancel activities in the State of Maryland related to emergency conditions, this position is required to complete all regular duties or as instructed by management.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to adapt to technology.
Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English.
Must be able to answer phones in a professional manner.
Maintain Malpractice Insurance and Auto Insurance.
Willing to work up to 2 weekends a month.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds up to 4 times during a scheduled workday.
Must be able to sit and look at a computer for 6 hours during a scheduled workday.
Must be able to type on a computer (both laptop and desktop) keyboard and utilize a computer mouse for 6 hours during a scheduled workday.
Must be able to walk up and down a minimum of 20 stairs.
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes.
Must be able to bend, kneel, and squat throughout the day.
License/Certifications:
RN License
CPR certification,
RN CM/DN certification,
Online HRST Rater Training and Online HRST Reviewer Training.
