Luna Data Solutions has an immediate contract position opening (contract term 12 months, with possible extension) for a Business Analyst resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX.
*This is a 100% onsite role.
*NOTE: All candidates must be local to the Austin, TX area.
Role: Business Analyst Role Description: The Business Analyst is an Information Technology (IT) position that reviews, analyzes and evaluates business processes and documents both technical and user business needs, with a strong emphasis on Digital Delivery and AI-enabled solutions. This role must be familiar with industry leading business mapping methodologies and business process reengineering that facilitate the delivery of successful projects. This role will provide support and offer best practices on reviewing, analyzing and documenting business systems and user needs.
Key Activities/Responsibilities: - Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business processes and systems and user needs.
- Adhere to general IT SDLC processes.
- Responsible for documenting detailed description of user needs and program functions.
- Responsible for documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.
- Responsible for gathering requirements for digital delivery and AI projects from pilot through production.
- Responsible for mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.
- Create and maintain several project artifacts including Business Requirements Document, Use Cases and User Acceptance Test Plan and Scripts.
- Collaborate with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges.
- Responsible for drafting statistical reports that assist decision-makers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Excel, Tableau, and other tools to perform data analysis.
- Serve as a liaison between the business community and IT teams.
- Responsible for identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate creating thinking to solve issues.
- Demonstrate team player skills with excellent interpersonal communication skills and documentation skills.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 7 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business processes and systems and user needs.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with general IT SDLC processes.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in gathering both business requirements from business divisions as well as technical requirements.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with serving as a liaison between the business community and IT teams.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with educating business unit staff on standardized processes.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Business Requirements Document, Technical Specification, User Acceptance Plan and Scripts, and other documents need in support of the solution.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with writing test cases and scripts that can be delivered to customers as well as provide support during User Acceptance Testing.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with Excel, Tableau, and other tools to perform data analysis.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with requirements gathering with the business team, fit/gap analysis and high-level estimation of implementation.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agencies
- CBAP and/or PMP certification is a plus
