PRIMARY PURPOSE :
- Follow routine maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, efficiency and pleasant campuses
QUALIFICATIONS :
Ability to read and understand verbal instructions in EnglishPossess and maintain a valid Texas driver's licenseHigh School Diploma or GED from an accredited Institution preferredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Follow all AISD safety procedures as covered in AISD safety handbookAbide by all AISD policies and procedures as outlined in AISD auxiliary employee handbookAssume responsibility for safe operation and care of assigned service vehicle, tools and equipmentAssume responsibility for personal time cardMaintain a program of preventive maintenance to assure the health and safety of students and staffMaintain procedures for locking, safeguarding and checking exterior facilitiesMaintain department schedulesKeep school grounds and exterior facilities, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas neat and cleanObserve and inform supervisor of safety hazardsComply with laws and procedures for disposal of trashMake minor facility repairs and report major repairs as needed to foreman / supervisorInspect vehicles and equipment for safety and efficiencyFollow compliance with Occupational Health and Safety codes and standardsPerform other duties as assigned by the foreman or grounds supervisorPosition may require overtime, as necessary to maintain function of District facilitiesPosition will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty, as necessary to maintain function of District facilitiesAny other duties as may be directed by your immediate supervisor and / or any other supervisor within your line of authorityJOB DUTIES :

Uses mower, edger, cord trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, tiller, sod cutter, electric drill, electric saw and hand tools.ENVIRONMENT :
Will work in, under, around, and outside of all AISD facilities, will be exposed to all outside conditions found in this region of Texas, exposure to dust, chemicals, and other materials and slippery and uneven walking surfaces.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Frequent walking, standing, crouching, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching overhead and horizontallyOccasionally move objects up to 75 pounds; ascend / descend ladders, scaffolding ramps, polesUse of tools / equipment requiring a high degree of dexterityRegularly operate a light truck or vanWork for sustained periods of time maintaining attention to detailWalking over rough or uneven surfacesMISCELLANEOUS
