Tax Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team in Costa Mesa, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing and preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while identifying opportunities for tax savings. Your expertise will be integral to maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all tax-related processes.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax reports for both businesses and individuals.
• Maintain and update the company's tax database to ensure accurate records.
• Evaluate and recommend tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize savings.
• Complete necessary documentation for income tax payments and returns.
• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and industry trends to ensure compliance.
• Forecast tax obligations and provide accurate predictions for financial planning.
• Identify opportunities for tax savings and advise clients on effective strategies.
• Collaborate with the Staff Accountant to assist in creating comprehensive financial statements.
• Oversee sales and use tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst, or Tax Preparer.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll procedures.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities, with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Industry certifications such as EA or CPA are preferred.
• Familiarity with individual and corporate tax return preparation, as well as sales tax filings.
