Position Title : Comptroller

Position Summary
The CAREX Comptroller is a senior financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the integrity of financial reporting. In addition to traditional comptroller duties, this role will play a strategic part in securing funding by developing valuations, managing relationships with financial institutions, and supporting capital acquisition initiatives. The Comptroller will ensure CAREXs financial health aligns with organizational growth objectives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and internal policies.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive leadership and board review.Manage internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain accurate financial records.Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.Strategic Financial Management
Develop and maintain financial models to support organizational decision-making and growth strategies.Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure operational sustainability.Advise executive leadership on financial risks, opportunities, and cost optimization strategies.Funding & Valuation Expertise
Create comprehensive valuations of CAREX assets, programs, and intellectual property to support funding efforts.Collaborate with the COO and CEO to prepare financial packages for investors, lenders, and grantors.Establish and maintain relationships with banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to secure favorable financing terms.Support capital raising initiatives, including debt financing, equity investment, and public / private funding opportunities.Analyze market trends and comparable valuations to position CAREX competitively for funding.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred).Minimum 710 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.Proven experience in valuation, financial modeling, and capital acquisition.Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworks.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Preferred Skills
Experience in healthcare or medical technology sectors.Familiarity with grant funding and government reimbursement programs.Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
