Candidates must pass a clinical review. High-risk delivery experience is needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high acuity environment is essential. Experience in circulating and providing newborn care, including eye care and vitamin K injections. Candidates must float to postpartum and antepartum as needed. Description : Responsible for providing care in a labor and delivery setting. Experience in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery is essential. Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Knowledge of EPIC, electronic fetal monitoring, and adherence to AWHONN guidelines is important. Candidates will be working with midwifery clients and private OBs. There are 31 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients. Scheduled shifts are posted every six weeks to meet unit needs. Requires participation in weekend and holiday shifts as necessary. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills to handle complex patient situations. Strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is required. Candidates should be knowledgeable in neonatal resuscitation and managing various medications, including insulin and magnesium sulfate. Ability to perform various nursing interventions, such as amnioinfusion and Cesarean sections, is expected. Assessing and managing postpartum hemorrhage and complications related to pregnancy is part of the role. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to patient care and adhere to safety standards.
