Responsibilities Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department within a teaching and acute care hospital Patient ratio is 1 : 5 The Emergency Department admits 60%-80% of patients with increased admit holds and ED Holding areas Shifts are nights (3x12 hours), with options for 36 or 48 hour weeks Weekend shifts are required and scheduled as needed, with weekends defined as Friday through Sunday nights and Saturday / Sunday days Floating to Adult PCUs is expected; floating to Peds ED is optional; may float to ED Holding or Trauma according to department needs Uses Cerner for charting No on-call requirement Black scrubs required No local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted Primary responsibilities include emergency nursing care, IV medication administration, and documenting / communicating clinical findings First-time travelers are accepted but travel experience is strongly preferred unless candidate has 2 years of Level I Trauma experience This is a teaching hospital setting with multidisciplinary team support RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval Free parking is available on site Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration) Minimum 2 years of ED experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred TNCC certification required at time of consideration ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH certifications required (NIH may be pending before start) COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions considered with proper documentation No RQI certifications accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-643060.
